Everyone knows the horrible feeling one gets when he/she wakes up Monday morning. Individuals on all social media accounts makes jokes about how awful Mondays are. Mondays are by far the worst day of the week as determined by everyone it seems. But what if it wasn’t. I mean Mondays, the start of a new week, the start of change, the start of a new beginning.
Monday. The first opportunity for you to have a great week. The first day that starts your week. So why have a negative mindset on the day? Because it is the first day of the week? That does not make very much sense; I mean, come on, people, every week we know Monday is coming. Then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and so on. So why not make it the best day? Monday is the chance to start a new week and a new positive attitude. I am not saying you have to be excited to wake up far earlier than you did on the weekend, but I hate to say it, but you will have to get up no matter what, so you might as well make the best of it. The negative mindset of Mondays is what gets us all down. If you have a negative outlook on something, you can almost guarantee it's going to be negative no matter what. Think about it. Mondays are the beginning. The beginning of a week that you have control over. You have control over how you act every day. Letting a day of the week determine your happiness? That is honestly a little sad. What about Tuesdays? At least Mondays, you had Sunday to have fun. Tuesday you are really not close to Friday and stuck between Monday and Hump day. What about Wednesday, Hump Day? Halfway through yeah, but you still have two long days ahead of you. Then Thursday? So close yet so far from the weekend. See? See every day of the week you can make into a negative, but why? Why would you do that? Why would you ruin every day with a negative attitude?
Let us try to look at the positives of Mondays. Every person gets to wake up on Monday and decide how his or her day is going to unfold. Yes, there might be unexpected situations that arise, but you can always choose to find the positive, the silver lining. Maybe it is eight Mondays until you graduate, or maybe you just cannot wait until Monday because, well, the sooner it gets to Monday the closer you are to Friday. No matter what, Mondays should never be negative. Mondays should be the start of something good, the start of endless possibilities if you let it.
