What better best friend is there than a mother? A mother is someone who you can tell all of your secrets to and talk about boys and there be no judgement, just fun conversations. She is the one you call all of the time just to talk and have someone to talk to.
My mom is the epitome of all moms and has obviously been a major part of my life for the past nineteen years. She has laughed and cried with me, listened to all my little secrets, stayed up way past a school-time bedtime to help me work on tough projects and has been there for me every day of my life.
She has led a fun and interesting life from the time she was born. It started by moving to Argentina as a missionary kid, then moving back to the United States, going to college, falling in love and marrying my crazy father. In my opinion, though, the most exciting part of her life are the three amazing kids she has!
In a non-weird way, my mom is the sister that I never had. Most sisters will talk to each other about their parents and tell each other things that only they would know. That is how I feel about my mom: she is my secret-keeper.
I love being able to spend time hanging out with my mom, just us girls. We have fun doing whatever we want, whether that means going antique shopping, grocery shopping (which I dread, but I go to spend more time with her), getting an occasional massage together, or grabbing a Starbucks while running errands.
I think it’s so much fun when we end up twinning, or when I go into her closet and wear her clothes and she wears mine. It’s kind of surreal, but when I look at pictures of my mom when she was a baby, I see myself several years ago, and when I look at her today, I can picture myself in the future.
I love you, mom! Thank you for being my best friend, secret-keeper, twin, but most of all my mom.
