Mom, I Love You

A whole lot more than you know

Mom, I Love You

*Note It is almost Mother's Day on May 8, do not forget to tell and show your mom you love her (but you should do that every day already).

Hi Mom,

Let me start off with something very important, and that is I love you. So much.

Where would I be without you? Probably a hot mess (even though I am still like that sometimes). I get sad thinking of mothers day knowing that your mom and my grandma will be looking down on us, but I still remember to be thankful that I have you. I am always so thankful for our relationship. Thank you for not only being my mom, but being my best friend.

Thank you for being my friend whether I had hundreds of friends or it felt like I had none.

Thank you for making me feel like I am on top of the world even when I feel like I am under it.

Thank you for making me realize that some people are just crazy and that if you spend too much time trying to figure them out that you will go crazy.

Thank you for teaching me how much being kind really changes things for the better. I strive every day to be half as kind and caring as you are.

Thank you for always doing everything to make sure my education came first. Especially from getting up at 2 a.m. every morning for work just so you could be off work in time to pick me up from school so I would not have to go to aftercare.

Thank you for talking to me about literally everything and anything. I could talk to you for hours with you about anything.

Thank you for making sure I have such a great relationship with my daddy (my dad will be hurt if I use dad instead of daddy) and sister. Mom, you're literally the glue of this household.

Thank you for staying up until 5 a.m. to make me a silly costume for school.

Thank you for always supporting my creative spirit and standing back to let me shine.

Thank you for building a gingerbread house with me at 21 years old because I said we never made one when I was little (even though I am sure we did and just do not remember).

Thank you for being supportive of every decision I have ever made or idea I had. Whether it was from going to school far away or staying home (which I am glad I stayed home, I would miss you too much).

Thank you for always being on my side, but letting me know when I am wrong.

Thank you for being there to answer every phone call. Whether I am having a meltdown from my crazy day or just to listen to my day.

Thank you for pushing me to do things I do not want to do and to be more adventurous and there to tell me when not to be so adventurous.

Thank you for showing me how to love my God, and realize everyone has different beliefs, but that does not mean I need to lose or change mine to fit in.

Thank you for always telling me how beautiful, smart and special I am. Not to make me cocky, but to make me confident and love myself, like every person should feel about themselves.

Thank you for always letting me be myself and always being so accepting. I think I could do anything and if you knew it made me happy you would support it 100%. Even how I joke around about being a star one day and you always completely go along with it. You taught me to dream big and to never ever, ever settle or give up.

Thank you for laughing at all my bad jokes and always understanding exactly what I mean. I am pretty sure you and I have our language at this point.

Thank you for telling me you love me every single day and multiple times a day. You're the reason I randomly tell the people I love that I love them.

These are just a few of the reasons I love you and why I am so thankful for you. Just a few though I could go forever about how much I love you.

Well, I love you, Mommy. Happy Mother's Day! I hope these made you smile :)

Love,

Your Favorite

(Just kidding I know you love all your kids equally, but did anyone else write a whole article about you?).

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
