Mom And Dad, Thank You

Words can't even describe how thankful I am for you both.

Mom And Dad, Thank You
Lauren Smith

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you. Thank you for everything you do. Words can't even describe how thankful I am to have you both in my life, but I am going to try my best to put into words how thankful I am for you both.

Thank you for all of your support. You both knew how hard it would be for me to go to a school so far away from home, but you supported me through every step of the way and constantly reassured me that I was going to be fine.

Thank you for always being my cheerleaders. All throughout the first semester, you would call and text me and always say how proud you were of me. Almost every conversation we had ended with "I am so proud of you honey." I hope you realize that just that one simple sentence made my day better and kept reassuring me that I was making you both proud.

Thank you for being the people that I could constantly talk to and come to for advice no matter what it was. All of my life you have both made me feel so comfortable coming to either of you with any weird, irrational, or crazy idea or thought that may have popped into my head. I am so lucky to have parents that I am so close to.

Thank you for being my best friends, for being the people that I feel totally comfortable being myself around, for being the people who make me laugh constantly, and for sharing laughs with all the time. Mom, gossiping with you and sharing stories with each other about our days during our daily phone calls will always be the best part of my day. Dad, my go-to guy for advice and just being there when I feel like I need to talk with someone, I can always count on you to pick up the phone and just listen to me talk for long periods of time.

And finally, thank you for just being the most amazing people I have ever met and the most amazing parents a girl could as for. You both have the biggest hearts and are the most genuine and loving people in the world. I love you mom and dad, and thank you for all that you have done and more.

Sincerely,

Your Ever-Grateful Daughter

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
