Do you remember when you were seven years old and wishing you could be an adult? We used to be so excited about going out with our friends, we just didn't realize what it would be like with responsibilities and money. There are definitely the plus sides to being an adult; being able to do what you want when you want, being in charge of your life, and choosing what to do with your time and money. But then again, there are definitely things I miss about my childhood...
1.Waking up at 8 and being excited.
I miss cartoons in the early morning, waking up, grabbing breakfast and watching tv in my PJ's...yes that was the life. Now if I get the chance to sleep in, there is not one thing in the world that will motivate me to wake up early.
2. Not worrying about what I was wearing.
This could be totally generic, but I absolutely hate choosing what to wear everyday. Growing up, I never had to worry about what to wear because I had no one to impress. Now, sometimes I have to be more aware of how I dress.
3.Getting paid to do chores.
We used to get paid to take out the garbage, clean the floors, or even doing the laundry. It wasn't much, but now we have to do it because it would be nasty not to clean. Sadly though, we don't get that allowance.
4. Minimal responsibilities
Pretty sure that the only thing we had to worry about then was going to school, chores, and cartoons. Now, it's much more.
5. No work
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy what I do, but there are definitely some days where I just don't want to get up and go to work. All Work and no play.
6. Mom making the meals
I miss my parents making me food. When I sit here and try to cook, I have either burned it, given up, or resort to the ramen like most college students.
7. Easy homework
What I would give to have my old homework that would be done in like 15 minutes. Now there's homework before the semester even starts that takes me 5 plus hours to do, and leaves little room for sleep.
8.The good shows
Shows now are just not as fun. I grew up with "Kim Possible", "That's So Raven", "Drake & Josh", etc. It was all pure fun.
9.Sports just for fun
Growing up, my parents had my siblings and I doing three sports to keep us active. I stuck with basketball and soccer, but all around it was for the love of the game and making friends. Now the focus for a lot of parents is putting their child in sports for the college.
10. Family trips
Having spring break with the family and everything being 100 percent relaxing. No stress, No worries.
11. No worries on getting married
I laugh because I have so many friends that are either engaged or married, and family members nudging me saying "you're next." When you're a kid your parents are happy because you don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's the one thing they don't have to worry about.
