What We Miss About Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has come a long way since her Hannah Montana days. But it's not the way we wish she would have gone. Don't get us started on that time she cut off her long beautiful hair. We're not sure how someone could have the guts to cut off hair as beautiful as Miley's once was. But that's not the only thing we miss about Miley. Who needs the twerking or the crazy tongue photos? Not us. We want to blare her album Breakout or dance to "Hoedown Throwdown" because let's be honest, we all know it by heart.

Miley once was an incredible actress and artist, and perhaps she's slowly trying to redeem herself since her Bangerz days. If that's the case, we're glad. While she will never be the Miley we once knew, we're just glad that she's toning it down a little bit. But this isn't about the Miley we know now, it's about the Miley that we fell in love with from the very beginning. She was spunky, funny, talented, and she showcased her voice in ways we wish she still would.

We miss who she once was and here's why:

Her Album 'Breakout'

Let's be honest for a second. We all loved this album because it had a little bit of everything on it. "7 Things" is still a jam, and songs "Simple Song" and "These Four Walls" will make everyone emotional. Her title track "Breakout" fits the excitement of getting out of school so well. Miley once had an album where everyone could relate, and we miss it.

Her Hair

We know we aren't the only ones who miss Miley's long beautiful hair. It was gorgeous. When she cut it all off, we were nothing short of emotional.

Her Incredible Way to Connect

We are sure that Miley still connects with her fans, but it used to be different than it is now. She connected with us through TV, her music, and her wise advice. We miss the way she spoke as Hannah Montana or the girl she promised would never change when she was younger. We love the sweet, spunky and wholesome Miley more than anything, and a part of us feels like we don't have that anymore.

Her Vocals

Miley still has pipes but she doesn't showcase it the way she used to. There is so much potential for the singer to showcase what she really has, and it's almost as if she doesn't care to do it anymore. Oh well, at least we have old videos to lack back on.

Hannah Montana

It's Hannah Montana. Need we say more?

She's Just Being Miley

We miss her just being the Miley we knew and loved. Not to mention, her song "See You Again" is a jam! We miss you, Miley!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
