In my personal opinion, Fall is by far the best season for multiple reasons. It’s the season in which everyone is back in college and hanging out, baseball is in the post-season, and the leaves are starting to fall. The season is full of amazing things in Michigan and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. This state has a lot of things to do during this beautiful season like, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and even pick-up football games.

Two of the best sports are active in the Fall. My favorite sport is baseball and seeing one of my two favorite teams playing in the playoffs is an amazing thing. The Chicago Cubs are one of the most superstitious teams in sports and hopefully they can make something amazing happen. Being able to go outside and play a pickup game of football with some friends in this brisk sunny weather is also a great feeling. Being a huge sports fan, I love the fact that every Sunday in the fall, I can wake up to football on TV.

The next thing that is huge in Michigan during the fall is both pumpkin patches and cider mills. Going to the pumpkin patch is always a fun time because you can go on hay rides, pick out that special pumpkin, and enjoy the corn maze. I always hated corn mazes because I could never get though it without running through the walls and cheating my way through it. The Cider Mills in Michigan are also amazing. Getting some freshly brewed apple cider and some delicious cinnamon doughnuts is a great way to taste the Fall season. A drink that everyone is really excited about this season, regardless of the state, is probably the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s from Starbucks.

Fall semester at SVSU is my favorite term because everybody is coming off of summer vacation, all refreshed and ready to learn. School starting off and seeing new faces around campus, the awesome events planned, and of course, homecoming. The events planned involves Halloween, Battle of the Valley’s and fun football tailgates. The Battle of the Valley’s is a football game between SVSU and Grand Valley and for the whole week, each school tries to raise as much money as they can. The money donated goes to a chosen charity or philanthropy that both schools can agree upon. SVSU is amazing when it comes to giving back to the community and I am proud to be enrolled here.

Fall is my favorite season in Michigan because of the leaves falling, great sports on tv, and being able to do great fall activities outside. Michigan is known for having a beautiful fall from the leaves and all of the color changing from the trees and really makes it beautiful. I truly love this season and truly love Michigan for making it so amazing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
