The spirit of christmas, once a champion to my family around this time of year, has withdrawn to the change of spirit.
It seems we don’t gather around trees, or make cups of coffees
For the long nights of presents, and presence of jolly
Because we have to all have the new, when it first breaks ground,
It’s not cool, to have to wait
For an ipad, ipod, on that 25th date,
When I could have it now, and the next thing too,
But aside from that, what really makes christmas?
Surely its not just the gifts, that get us
We want the cheer, cinnamon, eggnog,
Family maybe, and to be nice all year,
Because the santa today, doesn’t have ears,
He doesn’t make a list, or check it twice,
When the bad kids, get coal stead they fight,
There are no givings, and the feeling is gone,
Because summer forever, in Florida’s plight.
People go through the motions, it’s just the end of the cycle,
Christmas is here, until we decide
There are so many things around this and New Year's eve
A debate, a new iphone,
Googles competition,
3-D printing a dress
And making energy efficient
But with all the close, it comes to an end,
2016 fulfilled
2017 a plan?
We hope for the best, and prepare for the worst,
Because next year's new, another big first,
The people are changing, the technology increasing,
If only for a year,
We will not be missing,
The spirit and camaraderie,
that comes with the seasons,
