Men vs Women: From A Woman's Point Of View

In today's society men and women are still separated by stereotypes

Going back to Adam and Eve, men and women have lived together, ate together, and loved together. All of that changed when women wanted to start working or wanted to live on their own. When all the men went to war during WWII the women went to work in the factories building planes that soldiers were flying, working in the electricity factories. But when the men came home from the war, it was back to the housewife life for us women. Even though women kept the home running while working to keep the country up and running, women were still viewed to be at home taking care of the children.

Before you get upset and say that men don't have a few stereotypes as well, I'm getting to that part. Men are expected to work and work and work to make sure that his wife and kids have a place to call home. They aren't expected to show emotion or show that they actually care. They are just expected to go to work, maybe go to war, or just live a really boring life without emotion.

Both men and women have it hard, no doubt about it. Somewhere in the timeline, it became more men VS women: instead of men AND women: let's be equal.

Especially in today's society men and women are still separated by stereotypes and what society thinks they should be doing. For example, in the news, there have been a lot of discussion about whether or not abortion should be legal. Women believe that it's their body, it should be their decision. They know the circumstances that the pregnancy happened and that circumstance may not be the best. Other opinions are that it's a human life that it should have the same rights as everyone else. But what about the rights that are taken away from the woman wanting to get an abortion because she was raped and got pregnant?

There are so many differences between men and women in today's world. We experience it in our everyday lives. Girls, when you go buy razors at the store, do you notice that our razors are more expensive due to the "pink tax". Do you notice that a two pack of men's deodorant is usually the cost of one woman's stick of deodorant? There are BIC pens made "just for women" Are you kidding me? Do we need special pens just for being a woman? They must truly think the pen is mightier than the sword, although we would still do pretty good with a sword. Women pay more for shampoo because it has fragrances, we pay more for tampons because it's not considered a "necessity" I mean if you guys really want to find out what happens when we don't use tampons or pads then I guess that's cool, a little weird, but cool. Then there is the wage gap, but we all know that it exists.

I can just tell that some people don't believe that there is actually a pink tax.

Pink Tax: the proven theory that women, though only paid 78% as much as men pay more for everyday things branded "for women" than men so, such as women's shampoo, women's razors, and women's deodorant.

I am not saying that men don't have it hard. I am not saying that at all. They are expected to do so much. I just think that the intentions of the battle for equality got lost in the process. As much as we don't want to admit it there is inequality still in our society, we see it every day. Let's keep the fight going and work to get on the same playing field.

I tried so hard to make this article not biased towards one side, but when you face as many challenges as being a woman in this society, it's hard not to make things about feminism. All I want is equality, and I think that's what the rest of us want as well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
