Meghan Trainor: An Awesome Artist And Person

On July 26th, Meghan Trainor was at the Bellco Theatre in Denver for her Untouchable concert. Being a huge fan of Meghan Trainor, I went to the concert and she exceeded all my expectations. I knew the concert was going to be amazing, and she still topped it. Not only is Meghan Trainor an inspiring, strong young woman, she is funny and dorky as well. One of my best friends and I say that if she and I merged into one person, we would be Meghan Trainor. She was who I went to the concert with. Since I'm still hyped from her show, I decided to point out my ten favorite things about her. Let's see how many of you agree with me.

1. I love how silly she can be.

One of my favorite music videos is the one for her song, "Me Too." I had first heard the song before ever seeing the music video, and I loved the beat and everything, but when I saw the music video I saw how dorky and silly Meghan Trainor was being and it just made me love her even more.

2. I love how she dedicates a song to her mom, and her mom is a part of the song.

The part in the song where she's talking to her mom on the phone might be one of the best things that's not music that's in her song. I just love it.

3. Speaking of her mom song, I love the silly pictures during her concert.

While Meghan sang "Mom" at her concert, she had pictures and videos of her mom come up, and some of them were so cute and silly that it made me love her even more. She didn't just dedicate a song to her mom, she showed her mom off to the whole world.

4. I love how fun her songs can be.

One of my favorite songs of hers is "Dance Like Yo Daddy." It's kind of a funny song, but a part of the song is when she tells people to touch their toes, and then says she can't touch her toes herself. I don't know about you, but It makes me love her and the song even more. It makes her look totally and completely human, like we all are.

5. I love how she can be silly, but she can also be real and serious at the same time.

She's had serious moments in lots of songs like "Hopeless Romantic" and "Just a Friend to You," but then she also has those songs like, "Lips are Movin'" and "Dear Future Husband" where they're more serious topics, but she makes them fun. She knows how to keep people's attention during a concert, at least that's what she was able to do with me.

6. I love how she was able to just have fun on stage.

After seeing Meghan Trainor live, it made me love her even more. She was jumping around and having fun from the beginning of her set until the end, and she did a lot of songs. I loved watching her push through until the end, making every second count.

7. I love how much she shows her love for her fans and her friends.

During the concert, she just constantly told us she loved us and we were a great crowd. Her song, "Friends," is also all about how great life is because of her friends, and I love seeing an artist who doesn't seem to be getting sucked into a selfish life just because they got famous. She's still acknowledging friends and family and even her fans.

8. I love how her style isn't exactly the same for each of her albums.

She doesn't have just one specific type of music in the world, and it makes me love her even more. No matter what mood I'm in, I can most likely find a song of hers that fits not only my thoughts but also the style I'm looking to listen to. She always comes up on my playlists.

9. I love how her songs are about empowering being on your own, but not shutting out others in your life.

I may be reading way too into her songs, but I love her variety. She has songs about being the best you that you can be, but not forgetting others around you either. In her song "No," which is all about telling no to whoever is flirting with you, she still mentions that if she wanted to she would find someone. It's just not her priority! I like hearing songs that aren't saying you can only be happy alone or with someone, but that say you can find a way to be happy with what you have, but won't turn your back if you see something else you like.

10. Lastly, I love her as a human in general.

I know this is very broad, and it's basically what I've said before, but I just love this woman's personality. She's fun, she's confident in who she is, and she is overall just amazing. I aspire to have her confidence, and hope that one day I might have the luck of meeting her.

I absolutely love Meghan Trainor. She is an inspiration to the kind of person I would love to be someday, and I know that I will love any future music she comes out with. She's real, she's funny, and she's happy to be who she is. If I ever had the opportunity of meeting her, I would be the happiest person on Earth. Keep being awesome, Meghan! I'll always be your hugest fan.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
