To My Sister Who I Never Thought I Would Get To Meet,

I can't believe it's been a year since we first met. A year full of friendship and laughter. A year just for us.

Growing up, I always knew that I was adopted but I only knew very little about you. All I knew was that I did have a sister that was about 4 years older than me. That was it.

I would always wonder if our mom told you about me or not. I was hoping that one day when I got older that you would want to meet me. Little did I know that you were wanting to meet me too.

You had been searching for me for years and years. You had almost given up your look for me until that day when you got an email from me. We have finally found each other.

Finding you was crazy but meeting in person was crazier.

It seems like just yesterday. We both found out that we were going to the same Post Malone concert.

You were going with your future boyfriend and I was going with my two best friends. I don't know about you but I was so nervous, anxious, excited, and happy all at the same time.

I was kind of a wreck the whole day waiting up until the moment you got there. I remember getting the text saying you were at the concert. I left the crowd to go toward the front to find you.

I remember this next part just like it was like a dramatic movie. I remember looking in the crowd and I couldn't find you. Suddenly we both saw each other. It felt like everyone else was going in slow motion when we looked at each other in our eyes. We ran towards each other. We hugged. We cried. It was the best moment of our lives.

Since then, we have been learning so much about each other. What our favorite foods are. What tv shows we liked. What things we don't like. We have basically have discovered that we like and dislike the same things.

It's kind of freaky. We have talked about how our lives were like growing up. The things we have overcome in life and the things we have experienced. We have gone through birthdays together. We have gone through holidays together. We have gone through breakups together. We have really gone through a lot together.

I'm so happy we have each other now. I can't wait for our weddings. I can't wait for our kids to grow up together. I can't wait for us to get old together. We have one year down and a lifetime to go. I love you sister.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
