Recently, there has been more tragedy than ever in the United States. Mass shootings, terrorism and racism are the main topics of the morning news. Everyone has someone/something to blame. "We need more gun control," "We need to combat terrorism harder," black lives matter vs. back the blue, Donald Trump this and Hillary Clinton that. There is constant debate when I open my Facebook app about what the United States needs to do to get rid of these tragedies.
No one wants to be the reason, but everyone wants someone to blame for these things happening. But have you ever stopped and thought, "Maybe we, the people, are the reason?" No, we didn't walk into a nightclub and shoot random innocent people. No, we didn't become a terrorist. No, we didn't kill an innocent black man or an innocent police officer. But what this nation needs is love. Have we always shown love?
Of course not, no one is perfect. I'm sure there has been points in your life where you have shown hate to another human being, but that's normal. Everyone messes up, everyone sins. What you do after the sin, is the important part.
Forgiveness.
We, as a nation, need to forgive each other like God once forgave us. We all need to have a servants heart toward everyone and show grace even when it gets hard. We need to come together as not only a nation under God. No matter the race, religion or the difference we need to come together with love and peace.
This nation can't take anymore hate. We are desperate for love.
I want to one day be able to bring a child into this world, but right now, I couldn't imagine doing that to an innocent baby. I don't want to raise a child in a nation of hate, I want to raise a child in a nation where they aren't afraid of police officers. I nation to raise a child in a world where they can go to school and not have to worry about what they would do if a mass shooter walked in and opened fire. I want to raise a child in a nation where our two presidential candidates aren't fighting on Twitter, like I did in high school.
More than anything, I want to feel love in this nation. I want to become a nation under God again, but it is going to take more than posting a tweet about it. It is going to take everyone showing grace and unconditional love. It is going to take loving one another as God loves us.
