Let's make the world safe again.

When I was little I was scared of monsters under my bed. I was scared of ghost, goblins and gooles. Going to sleep scared me because of these things, things you can't see. Waking up and being around friends and family was my safe zone. Anything but being alone. My kids will be scared of being shanked, shot, or targeted. They'll be scared of opening up to people because they know those people may not have their best interest in mind for them. But after all, why shouldn't they be afraid? Isn't that the direction this world is heading in? I pray to God I'm not right.

That seems to be the line now a days. "I pray for a better day", "Let us pray that this world will come together in peace," "Let's pray for the families who are at lose." These were all over my social media time line, which is no surprise, but what may come as a surprise to some people is that they were posted from all different races. African Americans praying that the hatred directed towards their race stops, and that the hostial shootings will end. White people praying that they stay safe in the cross fire because even though we share the same color skin as those who did them wrong we are not the ones who did it. Gays praying that they will one day be accepted and pray that when they go out for a good time they won't be punished with many loses. Dreamers, big hearted people praying that we save this earth before we all disappear from it. So, we're all praying, why is it turning into another war?

I believe that we have to meet the big man up stairs half way. We all pray, we dream, we wish, and we hope for better days. But unless we work for them, and do everything we possible can in our power to make things better, to make things right, nothing will change. Understand that noones life is worth more than anothers. Understand that violence is not the answer because it will never end. Just because someone doesn't look like you, or doesn't act like you, does'nt make them any lesser. What ever happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt? Oh, that ended when the war started, right?

Can someone help me out with this war concept that is going on today? We are all human so what are we fighting about? The color of our skin? I'm white but I get super tan, do you want to fight about that? We all bleed red and look the same on the inside so get over the skin color. The sex you're into? I like men, so does my guy friend, something we have in common to talk about. No, I don't understand it but I dont need to to get along with him. Are these reasons really good enough to fight about? We are all human. Let go of the petty stuff.

I'm scared for my kids, and they don't even exist yet. But I will tell you that they will see every human for exactly what they are, living, breathing, beautiful lifes. We all need to come together before we tear eachother apart. Bad people did bad things, they're not a direct reflection of the race they came from. There is one picture circulating the internet that says it all, "All black people aren't criminals. All cops aren't bad. All white people aren't racist. All muslims aren't terrorists." News flast America, we all bleed red. So stop looking for blood. You want peace? Look for it in eachother.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
