He May Not Be A Superhero, But He's My Super Dad

I pray that I'll someday be a kick-ass parent just like him.

He May Not Be A Superhero, But He's My Super Dad

My dad is undoubtedly one of the most amazing people on this entire planet. He's one of the most hardworking, intelligent, yet hilarious people I've ever known. He has the ability to make anyone and everyone crack a smile I'll be lucky if I even am half of the person he is one day. I'm not always the best daughter, but I do whatever I can to make him proud of me. I sometimes feel that he thinks that I'm much closer to my mom which is not necessarily true. I've been incredibly blessed to be close to both of my parents.

Even though I may be close to my dad I sometimes forget to tell him some very important things.

1. I'm so proud of him.

It might seem weird to say that I'm proud of my dad considering it's usually the parent who is proud of the kid, but I can't help it. My dad has worked his entire life towards his goals and always achieves them. I've watched him receive multiple promotions and work up the corporate ladder. Every single time I hear of something that he's received I can't help but feel overwhelmingly proud.

2. He's probably the hardest worker I've ever met. I can only hope that I am as motivated as him someday.

My dad works his ass off both day and night. My mom has always told me that she's never met someone who worked as hard as my dad. I never really knew what she meant until I got older. He never does anything without giving it his all. He always makes sure that he does his absolute best job.

3. I pray that I'll someday be a kick-ass parent just like him.

To say that I've been blessed with a great dad would be an understatement. It just wouldn't even do him justice. He is a fantastic dad and I need to tell him it more often.

4. I hope the man I marry someday treats me as well as he treats my mom.

My mom has always told me that she's the luckiest lady in the world because she married my dad. She's told me on multiple occasions that she hopes that one day, my younger sister and I will both meet someone just as great as our dad to spend the rest of our lives with. I know for a fact that if my dad doesn't like him, then he's out of the picture.

5. I want him to be proud of me.

There have been tons of times in my life that he's told me he's been proud of me. Yes, I graduated high school and he was proud of me. Yes, I got accepted into college and he was proud of me. I just know that I can't wait to do something really special that makes him more proud of me than he ever has been.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
