Unlike my sister, I have a very easy time spending my money when I know I have it. I nearly blew all of my savings after shopping for my dorm room "essentials" before freshman year, and no stores take my money faster than TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I never try to go into these two stores. It's never my goal to spend every dollar I have on random fixtures and various clothing items. It just happens.
For example, my roommate and I went to Marshall's to try and find a few things for our apartment this coming school year. We anticipated to find a few things to make the apartment feel more like home; instead, we left with an entire bathroom.
Or before my family left for our annual vacation at the beach on the Fourth of July, my mom and I bought decorations, cups, napkins, and sparklers all from TJ Maxx.
I even bought one of my prom dresses there!
My entire closet is a combination of the two stores with a few things from American Eagle thrown in. You can't go wrong with them, you'll always find something.
Sometimes I leave with two rompers, a maxi dress, a pair of jeans, and four shirts, while other times I leave with two canvas paintings of foxes—it's a problem, I know—three picture frames, or even a complete luggage set. It's always exciting to go shopping there because, as Forest Gump would say, "It's like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get!"
Don't get me wrong, I spend my money at many other places. But TJ Maxx and Marshall's combined easily has the most money from me.
Let's face it, everything is expensive nowadays so it's nice to be able to go to stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's and get a variety of things for a lot cheaper.
So the next time you go out shopping, stop into Marshall's and TJ Maxx but make sure to go before any of the other stores. I can guarantee you that you'll spend more time and less money there than any other store.
