We have all seen the memes. Some of Jay Cutler throwing passes to the cornerbacks of the Green Bay Packers, others where bears fan have no idea who their quarterback is. Jay Cutler once lead his team to the conference finals of the NFC and was regarded as a Pro Bowl type player. In his earlier days in Denver, Cutler was compared to a young John Elway. This potential and hope seem to be forgotten now. Jay Cutler is a joke to many NFL fans, and they often laugh when they hear his name.
However, the truth remains: Jay Cutler has the chance to remake his career in the uniform of the Miami Dolphin. In 2015, under coach Adam Gase, Jay Cutler seemed to be rejuvenated in the Windy City. He threw for 3,600 yards and posted a passer rating of 92.3. This improvement, however, immediately decreased next season as Cutlers stats fell off across the board. This drop off could be attributed to the exit of Adam Gase. Gase left to join the Miami Dolphins and become their head coach. Now the dynamic duo has reunited in Chicago. Adam Gase is often called the quarterback whisperer because of his ability to help Quarterbacks perform in uncomfortable situations in which they struggle. One example of this just happened last off season. Ryan Tannehill had been steadily improving for 4 years in the league but was never regarded as much of an Elite level player. When Gase arrived, there seemed to be a spark in Tannehill's game. He was having a Pro Bowl level season until his injury.
So all the places seem to be in pace for Jay Cutler. He has the coach, and he certainly still has the talent which once made him heavily compared to Hall of Famers. I believe that Jay Cutler has a good chance of changing the minds of NFL fans everywhere this season.
