College. Everyone said that it was going to be the time of your life. What they didn't mention was that you would have multiple breakdowns a day and have homework that overwhelmed your very being. Some days you are just lucky if you make it back into bed in time to get a few hours of sleep before the madness starts again.

1. Sometimes you get something right

You barely have time to look at yourself in the morning before you are rushing out the door. So it's no surprise that you look like a hot mess and you probably haven't showered as recently as you should have.

2. Life is hard and it's okay to cry it out

Sometimes you realize that your professors are out to get you and they assign five million things a week. And then to top it off you have three major test within the same week. It only seems logical to cry it out.

3. When you make it through a tough week, it's okay to celebrate

At the end of the week, your grades could have taken a turn for the worse. But who cares at this point? You freaking made it past the week from Hell.

4. You miss multiple assignments

You told yourself that the last time was going to be it. But here you are again, another assignment missed and you don't understand how. What GPA?

5. Group projects, aka death

Group projects, you can't make it through your college career without having them. The problem that occurs is that no one can decide on what to do and no one wants to help. It makes you want to scream and pull your hair out.

6. That one teacher that doesn't slow their roll when you are frantically trying to write down everything they say

Trying to write down what they are trying to say is an impossible task. But you are trying your hardest to catch bits and pieces. So is it really your fault when you don't pass your test?

7. Opening your grades can be a little shocking

So you knew that the last test that you took didn't go that well. But you weren't expecting it to be that bad. So the utter shock is real.

8. Trying to get sleep is almost impossible at times

As much as you love your roommates, they make so much noise. You just wanted to catch a few Z's so you wouldn't be a complete B word the next morning.

9. Blackboard crashes right when you need it to work

You know that you procrastinated until the last second, but that doesn't mean that Blackboard has the right to not work. Blackboard is about as reliable as your ex.

10. Your friends beg you from time to time to go out when you have something big coming up you needed to work on

Telling your friends no doesn't seem to stop them from begging. Your heart is telling you to go with them but your head is telling you that it's the worst idea you have ever had.

11. Waking up and realizing that you slept through your alarm

Alright, so you slept through your alarm yet again. So it's time to set a new record for the fastest time for getting ready and out the door.

College is stressful, but somehow you keep making it through each day. It might not be how you would have ever expected but it's sure something. So here is to another restless night studying for tests and procrastinating responsibilities until the last second.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
