To the most wonderful person in my life, thank you.

While yes this can be a friend or a family member, or really anyone, I give the biggest shoutout to my best friend, Matt. Here's a list of all the things I am so very thankful for.

1.  For dealing with me rambling on the phone when I decide to spill out my entire life in a phone call.

2. For being the constant reminder that I'm normal, when I truly believe there is something wrong with me.

3. For showing me aye caramba. seriously. thank you.

4. For enjoying scary movies as much as I do, and watching every single one possible together.

5. For dealing with my mood swings, even when I can be the biggest bitch in the entire world. So sorry for that one.

6. For making me feel alive, in a world that sometimes feels like you aren't truly living.

7. For understanding my love for 2 tea bags instead of one, and always making sure without me asking that there are 2 in my cup.

8. For the nights in, because we thoroughly enjoy being snuggled up in a blanket instead of at a party.

9. For admiring the parts of me that I don't.

10. For always giving me the right advice. Truly the only person I 100% listen to.

11. For knowing directions because I can't even figure them out with google maps on.

12. For sharing your food with me, and your tea, and your clothes, and just about everything.

13. For knowing when I've had a little bit too much. I'll work on that one.

14. For being there when no one else is, through every breakdown, and every situation I overthink.

15. For letting me cry on you before I have to leave you, every. single. time.

16. For making this work, honestly for imprinting in my mind that it will work.

17. For not letting my late night thoughts be trouble.

18. For reading my texts about my dreams every single morning.

19. For showing me new music, and enjoying every song I tell you to listen to.

20. For letting me hog the blanket.

21. For holding my hair back that one time.

22. For serving our country, and being so brave about it.

23. For every letter during boot camp that brought a smile to my face.

24. For making me look like the good driver sometimes.

25. For letting me fit into any space possible to snuggle.

26. For making me late night grilled cheese.

27. For not being like any other guy.

28. For watching my stupid love movies with me.

29. For putting me in my place sometimes.

30. For understanding my love for letters, and saving all the ones I have given you.

31. For making you come in an uber with me at 3 am from your house to my house because I was too scared to go alone.

32. For genuinely being my best friend, the weirdest person I can be, the most honest and raw version of myself.

33. For making life never seem too serious.

Thank you for understanding myself when I don't. Thank you for figuring out the things in my head, and making decisions for me before I can even come up with a plan A or B.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
