Some people are passionate about clothing, and some are passionate about design, but I am passionate about makeup. I love everything about it. Not just makeup, but famous and upcoming makeup artists as well. I enjoy those that love to experiment with it just like I do.
For me, makeup is not just something that I can put on in the morning, or before I go out, but it is something I put my time and effort into doing and perfecting. Makeup is my form of art. I could sit in the mirror all day and try new techniques that I have watched on the new YouTube upload from Jaclyn Hill or other famous MUA. Every day there is something new to learn, and that is why I love it. I always say I can perfect my makeup, but there is no way I do. There is always room for improvement. Some people prefer brushes, but I am a sponge girl if you get what I am saying. It is also important for people to realize I don't do my makeup for the pleasure of looking good for other people. What's that famous line? "You think I own 78 shades of MAC lipsticks to impress a guy who can't tell the difference between Ruby Woo and Russian Red?" And I definitely do not wear makeup because I am insecure. I know I am beautiful without it, but I use it as an enhancer, or just because I love doing my makeup. It is a passion, and there is no reason you should be putting down anyone else's passions.
Makeup is not limited to just females either, that is a large misconception. I have seen many men who kill the makeup game better than I could, or any female could have ever done. Jeffree Star, Bretman Rock, Manny Gutierrez and PatrickStarr are just a few male vloggers who absolutely slay their makeup and share their skills with the world.
As a makeup enthusiast, following makeup artists doesn't just stop at Instagram either. You can guarantee we follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and probably a billion other social media sites we can find them on. For some of us, makeup is not just a hobby, it is a lifestyle. We fiend over the new pallets and shades of lipsticks coming out, and we are probably on the website anticipating the release of it. We are usually the first to know about new releases because we have been watching that makeup brand's Snapchat and they have said something about it. We belong to many Facebook groups and share our secret techniques within the groups, and we give out helpful critiques to benefit one another.
As a person who obsesses over makeup I can truly say that we are a group of people who enjoy what we do every day, and we stick together. Every person is their own personal MUA and should never put down another's looks or ideas. Instead, we help as best we can with helpful criticism, and pointers to keep each other confident and beautiful. No person is exempt from makeup, and everybody should realize we are not out here to impress other people but to express our own personal form of art; our passion.
