Thursday: to some, a start to the weekend. Friday: make it through class, official start to the weekend. Saturday: not a worry in the world, other than rallying after the long day of daging to make it out again that night. And then Sunday comes around, some see it as a day of relaxation to catch up on sleep and watch endless Netflix, while others see it as a dreadful day filled with studying and working out and more studying. Not to worry, there are numerous solutions to the Sunday blues and potential to even make this day the best out of all seven.
For starters, don’t sleep the day away in hopes of avoiding all responsibilities. Waking up in a dark room at two in the afternoon will not make you feel any better than setting an alarm for 11 am. Plus that leaves room for a few snoozes to the alarm before finally accepting that you can’t hide in your bed forever. Next step, take a shower so you feel like a new, refreshed person, ready to be productive.
I guarantee your mood for the entire day will be at an all time high if you begin the morning with a good meal. Whether its endless french toast in the dining hall or the breakfast nachos at Grain, a nice hot breakfast will turn your cranky, hungover self around. This may be hard to accept, but truthfully you’re going to have to do some type of school work if you don’t want to spend the entire week catching up. Post brunch, designate a couple hours of your time to the library, or if these vibes aren't right for you then try a coffee shop on Main Street. We have a surplus of those, all with irresistible smoothies and blended iced coffees that will make reading a text book slightly less painful.
When it’s time to give your brain a rest, I highly recommend working out since it’s one of the best stress relievers in the books. And can’t hurt to burn off the calories from brunch that morning to start off the week feeling good. A Sunday would not be complete with a hot, satisfying dinner after all of the productiveness you’ve shown all day. Give yourself the rest of the night off and watch a good romantic comedy with the roomies to end the weekend. No time for the Sunday blues while living the best four years of your life.
