Over the past couple years it seems like the makeup industry has been hyped up tremendously. And while I love how all my favorite brands are coming out with new make up formulas, and my personal weakness, new eye shadow palettes, it's hard to dictate what items I actually need in my life. As soon as I walk in to Sephora or in Targets make up aisle I completely get distracted and forget what I actually need and look at all the "shiny" new products they've released. So this article is just to help you with some of the basic things you'll need for when you're doing your makeup.

Clique Acne SolutionsLiquid Makeup

This fondation is really great for full coverage and doesn't irritate your skin. It retails at $27 at Macy's and comes in 16 different skin tones.

e.l.f. Liquid Liner

While I don't recommend this eyeliner for long term wear, since it does smudge, it's a good alternative to your expensive eyeliner, if you're just going for a quick errand run. While this eyeliner does smudge if you wear it alone, it seems to be better with paired with eyeshadow and won't smudge then. It retails for $2 at Target and Walmart.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated

This powder is what dream are made of. It comes in 3 different colors and adds a lot of sparkle and can be used as a highlighter. It retails for $30 at Sephora.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lipstick

Basically, this formula is like Kylie Jenner's Lip Kits at a fraction of the price, and many of the colors are actually dupes of Kylie's infamous kits. It retails at $6 online.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

These palettes are amazing and Urban Decay is even better because they're cruelty free, meaning they don't animal test. The Naked palettes come in three different color scheme, as well as mini palettes with just some basic colors if you don't want the bigger palettes. They retail at $54 at Sephora.

L'OREAL Lumi

This is a liquid highlight you'd apply like a foundation. It's really pigmented and comes in three amazing colors. It retails at $12.99 at Target.

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick

Too Faced is another cruelty free company that also has amazing products, like their matte squeezable lipsticks. This are really great for when you're on the go because they're so easy to apply and they don't dry your lips out too bad. They retail for $21 each at Ulta Beauty and Sephora.

Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara

Can you tell I love Urban Decay? This mascara is great for when you go see Finding Dory and don't want anyone to know you bawled like a baby. It retails for $20 at Sephora.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

If you're looking for long lasting eyeliner, this is a pretty good one. I have experienced smudging, but for most days it goes one fine. It's basically like a Sharpie but for your eyes. It's also waterproof and a cruelty free brand! It retails at $19 at Sephora.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit

I would sell my soul for these Glow Kits. Each comes with four different colors in the kit and are amazing highlighters. They retail at $40 online and at Sephora, (if they're not already sold out).

Stila Magnificent Metals Eyeshadow

This is almost a cream eyeshadow but it's super pigmented and comes in 20 different colors. Retails at $32 online and at Sephora.

Maybelline Color Jolt lipstick

While they're not complete dupes for the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, they have similar colors if you're on budget and don't want to rake out the $21 for the Too Faced version. They retail for $7.73 at Walmart.

NYX Setting Spray

This is honestly a summer must have. It comes in both a Matte and Dewy finish and retails at $7.99 at Target and Ulta Beauty.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
