Makeup is expensive. Face wash is expensive. Having good hygiene can be expensive. Heck, life is expensive. While some of these products border expensive, they're ultimately getting you the best bang for your buck. While I can't guarantee you will love all of these products (even though I did), I can persuade you to try them! Check these out:

1. Soap & Glory Face Wash

Sold at Target (or Ulta) for $11, this face wash works miracles. It's a little bit soapy, by the clean feeling that comes afterward is worth it.

2. Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Oil

Oil on your face?! I know. But I have never broken out from it, and in fact, it makes my face feel as smooth as a baby's bottom. It's a little pricey at $16 but so worth it.

3. Too Faced Better Than False Lashes - Extreme Mascara

Imagine Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara with microfibers... this is like mascara on steroids. This product sits on the higher end at $35, but what fancy mascara doesn't?

4. Wet n Wild Photo Focus H20 Foundation

Don't spend $40 when you can spend $5 because this foundation is actually perfect. Available at pretty much any Walmart for $5 (yes, $5!), this foundation goes on smooth and stays all day. Plus, it never gets cakey.

5. ULTA Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

Okay, but who needs to spend $40 on a Naked eyeshadow palette when you can spend $20 on one at ULTA? Completely comparable to higher end eyeshadows, this palette is super pigmented and lasts all day.

6. Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse

Pale like me? No problem. If you don't really want to damage your skin permanently with UV rays, self-tanner is for you. Loving Tan goes for $35 initially, and while you could spend $10 on Jergens, this product ultimately lasts longer and looks better.

7. Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner

Kat Von D waterproof eyeliner is super popular, but this is way better. I have gone swimming for hours and my eyeliner hasn't budged. $22 may be pricey to some, but if you like your liquid eyeliner you should definitely try this out - and it comes in multiple colors.

8. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara

This is easily a dupe for Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara. It works miracles and is a cheap $7 in comparison to higher end and even other drugstore mascaras. Another pro? It stays "usable" for a pretty long time. In other words, I've probably had it for 4 months and it is still as good as new.

9. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes

Don't sleep on these. I have used these for years and they rock. From time-to-time, I switch to an off brand makeup remover, but they burn my eyes or don't get all of my mascara off. Disagree if you please, but I believe that they're worth the $7 splurge - and you can buy them in bulk at Sam's Club.

10. Klorane Dry Shampoo

This is such a life saver. I am naturally blonde, and I have to wash my hair every day or it will get greasy. And even sometimes, if I shower in the morning, it will be greasy by the afternoon. But this product works wonders. It goes for about $20, and while it is comparable to Batiste, I still believe it is better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
