Studying can be frustrating. With all the distractions available online, it's hard to focus on something as unstimulating as reading a textbook. For me, and many others, music is a great way to jazz up the background of your study room, and make that reading a little bit more bearable.
Unfortunately, listening to music with words can be distracting if your homework also has words. The following is a selection of my favorite instrumental music to study to (and few selections that have words just for fun). Happy studying!
1. 'The Chronicles of Narnia; The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe Original Soundtrack' by Harry Gregson-Williams.
This is a classic study soundtrack. If you've seen this film (and probably even if you haven't), this music will evoke your inner White Witch and destroy that stupid over-sized cat of an assignment!
2. 'Colors of Love' by Thomas Bergersen.
This song comes from the album 'Sun' by Thomas Bergersen, a composer known best for his work with the film music company Two Steps From Hell. This song is particularly uplifting, perfect for those assignments that you need a little extra spirit to finish.
3. 'New Life' by Thomas Bergersen.
Yes, yes. Another work from the same album. Similar to the work before with it's uplifting quality. It's a great song and worth a listen.
4. '8-bit Style Super Happy Version!' from the 'Goat Simulator' soundtrack by Coffee Stain Studios.
Anyone who has played the video game 'Goat Simulator' will remember this song. It's a little weird, a little quirky, but most importantly, it's fun. Works well to cheer you up if your assignment has got you down. And I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, there will be more goat related music on this list. This isn't the only one.
5. 'World's Most Epic Pirate Music Mix | 1-Hour Mix,' Various Artists.
If you don't like pirate music I don't want you reading this article. This compilation will leave you wanting to suffer through your homework all over again!
6. 'All Drums Go To Hell' by Two Steps From Hell.
<span id="selection-marker-1" class="redactor-selection-marker" data-verified="redactor"></span>
For those of you who are distracted by both voices, and melodies, this is the album for you. It's almost strictly percussive and really gets you in the aggressive, homework-finishing mood. Use this one for some really tough assignments or if you really want to confuse your neighbors.
7. 'Screaming Goat 10 Hours.'
Do you have a very long assignment to do? Are the screams of your inner demons trying to get out? Settle with this homework music. Good for 10 hours!
8. '10 Hours of Absolute Silence.'
Remember all those thoughts you thought you had buried away with the constant stimulation of screens and activity? Let them run free! This song will really let you get in touch with the horrors of being alive!
