Lupita Nyong’o has the chance to star in Marvel’s newest production, “Black Panther”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nyong’o is “in negotiations” to be cast alongside “Captain America: Civil War” star Chadwick Boseman.
She is rumored to star as the Black Panther’s love interest with the character currently unknown.
With a frequent showing of a white majority in film, "Black Panther" is providing more roles for African-American leads with Boseman and the possible addition of Nyong'o.
Nyong’o earned an Oscar for her role in “12 Years A Slave” and a current Tony Award nomination for her Broadway debut in "Eclipsed." She has recently starred in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and the remake of “The Jungle Book” released last month.
Nyong'o makes an appearance in Disney's "Queen of Katwe" this fall. Her twitter feed shows how passionate she feels about this film when she tweets, "This movie proves that daring to dream is worth it". It may hit close to home that "Queen of Katwe" tells the story of a young female chess prodigy in Uganda, right next door to her family's native Kenya.
“Creed” Director Ryan Coogler makes his first step into the booming comic industry with this film.
"Black Panther" is set to release February 2018.
