Life is flying by and very few people take a chance to open up their eyes, take a deep breath, look at what is happening to us, and realize how blessed we are to wake up to another day. The little things in life are what you will see flash before your eyes. You'll realize that these friends, boyfriends, and girls who gossiped about you aren't going to mean anything and that they aren't going to do anything but take up precious time that you could have been spending in a positive way.
You'll regret the times when you didn't say I love you and the times when you didn't kiss him goodnight. So, right now, take the time to look around, take a deep breath, and take everything in. Next time when you are forced to go to what you think will be just another boring family gathering, think about really loving every moment with them. Laugh about what your uncle did last Christmas, beat everyone in Uno, and eat that extra slice (or two) of pecan pie. Those are the moments that I want to have engraved in my mind forever.
I have been in college for a year and a half now and, at this moment, I love myself more then I ever have before. It has been the best decision that I have made, to accept myself for the cellulite, the attitude problems, and for all of the other flaws that I see in the mirror every day. Taking that step last year was the beginning of a whole new me. I didn't worry about what anyone was saying about me or about what I felt was wrong with me. I wake up in the morning and I tell myself that I am going to have a great day. No matter what curveballs are thrown at me, I will be good and God will get me through everything.
You can't just expect it to be good day or expect everything to come easily. You are going to go through things that might get you down a little bit, but, in the end, everything will be OK. Wake up with the mindset that today will be a great day. It will be if you tell yourself that.
