A Love Story: Every Girl Ever and Nick Jonas

Every girl remembers the first time she fell in love.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was 2007. I was too old to be watching the Disney Channel, but I still was. In between episodes of The Suite Life and Hannah Montana came a painful pop-rock cover of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and the cutest boy my 13-year-old self had ever seen. A couple of shakes of that curly mop of brown hair was all it took.

I'm sure many of you can relate. Nick was (and still is) the cutest Jonas.

Like every great love story, Nick and I have had our fair share of ups and downs. I pulled his poster out of every over-priced issue of Tiger Beat magazine I could get my hands on. I screamed until I lost my voice that time he played "A Little Bit Longer" on that white baby grand during the "Burning Up" tour. And yes, I might've forgotten he existed for about 5 years ... but after the first time I heard "Jealous" on the radio I felt like I had braces and side-bangs all over again. The spark had been rekindled.

Yes, he may currently be dating the actual Queen of the Universe ... but maybe, just maybe, one of us regular girls still stands a chance. You know you had it bad for Nick (and maybe still do) if:

1. Camp Rock was everything.

2. You hated Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato, and any other teen queen who dared come near your man.

3. You were old enough to realize how horrible it was, but you still watched J.O.N.A.S. the TV show.

4. You may or may not have cried when Nick cut the fro.

5. You definitely cried when the brothers announced they'd be going their separate ways.

6. You made posters for the concert and desperately hoped that Nick would see you all the way back there in the lawn seats and fall in love.

7. "When You Look Me In The Eyes" was your Myspace profile song.

8. "Play My Music" was your ringtone.

9. You still have Big Rob's rap from "Burning Up" memorized.

10. You still have your Jonas Brothers collectors edition of People magazine.

11. You truly believed the Jonas Brothers were The Beatles of our generation.

12. One Direction can't even compare.

13. You would've totally worn a purity ring for Nick.

14. Your heart broke when he finally took that purity ring off and you weren't the first to know.

15. Until you saw those pics in his Calvin Klein's.

16. You have his new album ... and aren't even ashamed of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
