There are so many stereotypes for those living in the South, but many of them are hyperbolic. I'm here to tell you now, though, that Tim McGraw sang it best; ain't nothin' in the whole wide world like a Southern girl.

Food.

Where else is bacon grease considered an ingredient?

Summers are hot and the boys are hotter.

I live in the “just right” South.

I get to experience all 4 seasons in a week, but the Confederate racists are few and far between here.

Football is a season, not just a sport.

Bless your heart.

Am I being nice? Am I calling you an idiot? You may never know.

Monograms go with everything

Baseball hats go with everything.

Manners

We say yes ma'am and no ma'am, please and thank you, and we always respect our elders.

You know the difference in being a redneck, being country, and being southern.

And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
