Throughout the "Gilmore Girls" series, there was one character who always stood out from the rest. No, I am not talking about either part of the witty duo that was Lorelei and Rory, but rather the unapologetic, driven wonder that was Paris Geller.
We hated her, and then we loved her. Then, we went back to hating her again. From bossy high school overachiever to intelligent rising graduate school student, Paris’ character went through the most development and change during the series, hands down.
All of that change indicates the necessity to break down her character in order to explain why we cannot get enough Paris in our lives.
1. She always urged us to try harder.
Paris was always pushing Rory to do things she would never consider, such as being her running mate. Scenes like this made us want to try a little harder, too. "Hey, maybe I would make a nice French Club secretary!"
2. She kept us grounded.
Whenever she gave Rory a taste of cold, hard truth, it made us reevaluate some of our own life choices.
3. She did not ask for much.
This kind of modesty is something that all people should strive for. Is it really that much to ask that we equally value all of the weird phases we have been through in life?
4. She could be just as witty as the Gilmore girls.
Although her witty remarks were often more than a little cutting, sometimes the idiots of the world deserved what Paris could dish out.
5. She begged us to think more deeply.
Idle conversation is a no-go for Paris. The way to her heart is through well-thought out debates with unique points.
6. She was brutally honest.
The truth hurts, but you won't learn from someone telling you all of the good things about you. Sometimes you need someone to simply be honest about your weaknesses so that you can fix them.
