It was love at first sight. Just like your typical romance story -- boy meets girl, girl meets burger, and the rest was history. Now I could tell you why I love you so much, but I could talk forever. So here are just a few of my favorite things about you.
1. Brunch.
You accept me for my hungover self every Saturday and Sunday morning. You open your arms to me and my friends along with mimosas and morning ciders. Your biscuits and gravy, donuts, or breakfast sliders make my headache go away and my heart happy. You are the reason I leave my bed on the weekends.
2. Greg Brady.
You have introduced me to one of the most important men in my life. His name is Greg Brady and he is rich, meaty, and just plain delicious. With mac n' cheese and barbecue chips you are my foodie dreams brought to life. "Got along before I met you. Couldn't get along without you, now."
3. Sticky Nugs.
Wow, thanks BJs & JBs for giving me the happiness that is eating sticky nugs. I love them in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. You showed me to not discriminate against any flavor and to be adventurous to all the house sauces that are offered. Thank you for showing me the sticky nug world.
4. Fried Oreos and donuts.
You showed me the dirty girl scout donut and a fried Oreo, and as a result, changed my world. I will save room just for them, which is rare at other restaurants. Sometimes I may even get them as an appetizer just because I can't wait 'til dessert. You showed me to live on the wild side and get those sweets.
5. Downtown happiness.
You brought me to downtown Harrisonburg and have helped introduce me to new friends. For instance, if I did not go downtown all the time to visit you, I wouldn't see my dear friend Kline's Ice Cream as often. Thanks for showing me how cool downtown Harrisonburg is, and making me fall in love with my JMU home even more.
So, Billy and Jack, you have made me fall in love with food, booze, and people even more. I love that you accept everyone who walks in your door and won't let us leave until we are full and happy. I have heard you are in Richmond now, too, and I can't wait to pay a visit.
Shoutout to Brigid Dass for the mouthwatering pic of the Greg Brady.
