5 Reasons to Love Joanna Gaines

Because who doesn't love her Waco spunk and amazing design skills?

Do you ever just watch a show on TV and you fall in love with the cast, their personality and just them as a person? Well, this is me with Fixer Upper, specifically Joanna Gaines. Joanna Gaines is the most down-to-earth, sweetest, Jesus-loving and most hilarious person. I can watch Fixer Upper and just gawk over each house design and how I wish I had even a lick of interior design talent to even compare to Joanna. Here is why everyone (yes, men too) should love Joanna Gaines.

1. Her relationship with Chip

Their relationship is just wonderful. Direct quote from Joanna to Chip “You were my first Fixer Upper!” I mean total “ugh they pick on each other that’s so cute” moment. Right? I love just watching them get to design and work together, like how awesome is it to get to work with your best friend.

2. Her decorating skills.

I mean, my goodness, does this even need an explanation? Its almost as if “may the interior design force be with you, Joanna” and bam. She has a whole house designed in like a day. If I had to do that, it would take me a week and then I would have a mental breakdown and quit. All praise hands to you, Jo.

Fun fact, you can actually go to Waco and stay in a bed and breakfast Joanna and Chip "fixed up" themselves called Magnolia House. It only cost $695 per night, which in my Fixer Upper obsessed mind sounds reasonable, so I might as well start saving now.

3. She is country chic flawless.

Joanna has such a cute wardrobe, even when she is a part of #demoday (you only know this is a thing if you truly are a fan). Even with a hammer in hand, she is still killing it in a cute Waco inspired outfit. Her style always looks so casual yet so cute and chic. How does she look that good after doing all that hard work? Teach me your ways, wise one.

4. Her kids are incredible.

I love her kids. They aren’t on each show as much as Chip and Joanna are, but when they are I'm yelling at the TV going “AHH OMG” or “AWWWW LET ME LOVE YOU” and I say “You have a wonderful mother. I pray you get her design skills so when you grow up you can take over the show so it never has to end.” Main question, though: how do they all just look like Chip? Joanna genes, where you at?

5. She just came out with a new paint collection.

If there weren’t enough reasons to love her, this beautiful paint collection tops it all. I just want to paint my future home in every single color. If I can’t ever have Chip and Joanna come down to good ole Tennessee, I might as well paint my whole house with her paint line, right? That’s about as close as I’ll get to Joanna Gaines.

Joanna Gaines is a wonderful person, mother and I imagine she is a wonderful friend too. If you don’t love her, just binge watch Fixer Upper. It’ll only take you about one episode to fall in love and then you’ll be addicted to the Waco atmosphere for the rest of your life.

Joanna Gaines, you’re my fave.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
