Of all the talk show hosts that are or ever were, my favorite is Jimmy Fallon. Take a look at my DVR -- there will be at least one episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," if I haven't caught up and watched them all yet.
I have recorded and seen every single episode of "The Tonight Show" since Fallon took over as the host. I actually started keeping up with him towards the end of his run as the host of "Late Night," but that was over two years ago now.
I don't do that with any other talk show.
If you come over my house, you will have a very high chance of stumbling upon me doing my homework with Fallon, his guests and his house band, The Roots, plastered all over the TV screen. If you're on the other side of the house, you will probably hear my loud bursts of laughter as I watch "The Tonight Show."
Fallon's sense of humor is similar to mine and I find everything he does and says to be completely hilarious. I'm the kind of person who laughs at pretty much everything anyways. If it's not what was said, then it's how it was said. And Fallon's sense of humor and just his personality keep me laughing constantly. He's not over-the-top with his comedy and doesn't seem like he's trying too hard. He's always just easy going with his show and is completely himself, which I appreciate.
The banters back and forth with him and his announcer Steve Higgins in their weird character voices are the best thing ever. And the sketches he does with his guests -- just perfect.
His signature comedy bits are well written and funny as hell. Whether it's his Thank You Notes, the Hashtags, Pros and Cons, or Tonight Show Superlatives and Do Not Read lists, the show never disappoints.
And who doesn't love a lip sync battle?
Every show is great. He gets good guests and awesome musical performances, making you interested in the shows coming up.
So whether you stay up late and watch it as it airs, or record it and watch it later, "The Tonight Show" is a good source of great entertainment that might just sink it's hooks in you.
If you're looking for some laughs, watch "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" weeknights at 11:35/10:35C on NBC.
