My Love-Hate Relationship With Cold Weather

I hate it, I love it.

My Love-Hate Relationship With Cold Weather

I have a love-hate relationship with cold weather. There are things about it that I absolutely love, but also many things that I hate. Some fall somewhere in between and many go together, since you can't have one without the other.

Love: Sweaters, scarves, and vests galore.

Nothing beats taking your favorite cold weather items out of storage and getting to wear them. Until....

Hate: Big coats, hats, and gloves become a need to walk 5 feet to your car.

You hate to don it all just to go to your care and sweat the whole time you drive, but if you don't your fingers might just freeze off.

Love: Fuzzy socks.

Honestly I think this may be my favorite part of cold weather. Fuzzy socks everywhere, worn with almost any outfit since they fit great with all the winter boots.

Hate: All the colds.

It's almost a guarantee to get sick at some point during the cold weather season. With so many germs and the cold weather it's practically a miracle if you make it through healthy.

Love: Hot chocolate and fireplaces.

Hot chocolate, sitting by a fire sipping it while you warm up from any outside adventure, I don't know how you couldn't enjoy that. The only bad thing is that you're doing to warm up from the cold.

Hate: How hard it is to get out of bed in the morning.

Love: How snuggly and warm my bed is in the morning.

It's tricky, these two go hand in hand. I love how warm and cozy my bed is but the cold makes it a million times harder to get up in the morning because of how cold I know I'll be as soon as I get up.

Love: Holiday season and snuggling up with loved ones watching movies.

My final thing that I love about the cold is how the colder weather brings Thanksgiving and Christmas. Food, laughter, family, and friends all brought together. It's also the perfect time to snuggle up with popcorn and watch some of your favorite holiday films.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
