Every year when fall rolls around and football seasons starts, we all get really excited. By “we” I mean pretty much all of America. It’s the time for tailgates, cute outfits, cold weather, good friends and of course America’s favorite sport, football. But there are so many of us who just love the football games and not actual football. Why? Well even after being explained what a five yard penalty is ten times, I still don’t understand how you can have a full conduct sport and get penalized for being ‘too’ rough. Even though I don’t understand the actual sport, there are so many reasons why people like me who don’t like football still absolutely love going to the games.
The Tailgates
Tailgates are one of the best parts of a football game because it prepares you for the actual game. You get to wake up early in the morning in order to start partying for the game later that day. The fact that you can walk around the entire stadium from tailgate to tailgate allows you to meet so many new people. You also get to dance and sing to great music while you drink your life away before the game. And to top all of that off, you usually get free food and free drinks. This means amazing barbecue foods accompanied with the famous Natty Light or even hunch punch. One of the best parts of the tailgate is that they get you so pumped up for the game.
The Cute Outfits
One of the most important parts before a football game is figuring out what to wear. For girls, and I’m sure some guys, we want to make sure we have the cutest outfit that supports the team we are in favor of. This is also really important because “were you even at the game if you don’t post a picture?” The classic sundress in game day colors, the latest trend of rompers or even an oversized team jersey with converse are perfect choices for an afternoon of tailgating and football.
The Actual Game
Even if you weren’t an actual fan of the team or teams that are playing you will be by the end of the game. This is the time you’ve been waiting for all day. No matter where you’re sitting in the stadium, you are going to have a good time. And you’ll have even more fun if the people around you have been tailgating all morning as well. Go get some snacks from the concession stand and maybe some more drinks to enjoy the game. Get involved in the chants and cheer when everybody else does so it looks you know what’s going on.
So regardless if you actually know the game of football or not, you are guaranteed to have fun no matter what. The main goal for the entire day is to have a good time. Everybody just enjoys the atmosphere and for the most part, even if you are routing for different teams, you are still great friends. And if your brain allows it, try to learn the game because who knows you might have even more fun!
