11 Stages Of Losing Your Mind Before Finals, As Told By 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

I'm sure finals season has caused us all to go slightly bonkers, so here's a laugh (or maybe a wakeup call)!

1. "Everything seems to be okay!"

This is the first stage. You don't even realize that you're on the path to losing your mind yet. This is the best stage.

2. "Okay, maybe not everything is going as planned."

Ah yes, stage two. You've failed a test, you have one (manageable) group project and a slight cough. But Everything is still okay. School just isn't going as planned.

3. "Cool, cool, cool, cool."

Everything is not cool. Stage three is when all of the stress that you've been ignoring starts to creep in on you.

4. "I need to smash something!"

Stage 4? Anger. Everything is upsetting. Being in class is upsetting. Being around people is upsetting. You need to sleep for 32 hours but you just got assigned another 2 group projects.

5. "Who can I pay to help me?"

Stage 5 is desperation. What can money buy? A helping hand. For a minute there, you really consider hiring a someone to go to classes for you and take notes.

6. "Why do I even need a degree?"

Stage 6: the existential crisis. Do I really need to be in school? What does it all mean? Why am I even here?

7. "Right now is a perfect time to learn a new hobby"

Yeah, I might have 3 essays to write, 2 exams to be studying for, and 2 group projects to finish, but right now is the PERFECT time to learn how to play the piano!

8. "That's it, this semester has killed me."

Stage 8 is when you've given up all hope and probably Q-dropped all 15 hours.

9. "Okay, I was being dramatic before. Maybe I can finish this semester."

Stage 9? Positivity! You've been through an emotional roller coaster, but now you know that there's an end to it all eventually.

10. "I'm going to remain calm."

Stage 10: You have figured out that if you just stay calm, you can accomplish anything. You might have a mountain of work, but it's all about attitude!

11. "Just kidding, I'm sick, crying, and miserable. I don't even know how to read anymore."

This is the final stage. You're super sick, your brain has turned off, and you're just trying to survive and not skip all of your classes. You're starving and still have 4 group projects to finish. Life is hard.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
