I'm well aware that in the next day or so that it will be Halloween. Most people get really into that, but my family has never really celebrated it. We usually pass out candy and carve pumpkins, but that's about it.

I'm already a scaredy cat in general, so Halloween isn't exactly my favorite holiday. I would prefer not to be scared for the rest of my life. I'll just go and get some ice cream, instead of facing the costumes.

Once Halloween is over, the Thanksgiving craze will begin. But let's be honest. It's already began for me. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Therefore, I decided to make this article on all my favorite parts of Thanksgiving.

1. Inviting friends over

Our family likes to invite at least one family over every year to join us at Thanksgiving, and we have tons of fun.

2. Last minute grocery shopping

It's that moment when you realize you didn't buy enough butter or eggs. Why do the stores have to be so crazy? It's not even Black Friday, and it's already cart wars.

3. Typical Food Disaster of some sort

Whenever you making tons of food, there is something that is bound to go wrong. And of course, it goes everywhere.

4. Eating pie

Doesn't Costco make the best pumpkin pie ever? See! Even Snoopy knows!

5. Setting the table

I enjoy setting the table because we pull out our china and fancy glasses. It only happens once a year, and it's super special.

6. Watching the boys eat all the cranberry sauce

They love it. And I have no idea why.

7. Watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Don't forget to set your alarm or you will sleep through this. I've done this too many times, and I'm always sad. It's worth getting up for it.

8. Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

We don't always get to watch it, but when we do, it makes my heart happy. It's the best.

9. My mom's sweet potato dumplings. Basically heaven in a dumpling.

10. Watching my dad slice and dice the bird

It's kind of terrifying, but I'm so hungry at this point I don't care.

11. Turkey

I saw this gif, and I had to put it in here.

12. Eating together

There is something about sitting down to a fancy dinner with your family and close friends. It's wonderful.

13. Shop 'til I drop

After dinner, games, and friends have left, it's time to sleep very little and shop!

14. PULL OUT CHRISTMAS STUFF

The day after Thanksgiving, every thing Christmas comes out. It's the most wonderful time of the year!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
