In this generation, technology is one of the most important things. We use it for school, navigation, talking to friends, and so much more. But what if we weren't glues to our phones 24/7?

Admit it, we are all guilty of it putting almost a whole concert on our MyStory on Snapchat, and we're all guilty of sharing what we ate for lunch. Imagine what would happen if we just... Didn't? Not only would our Snapchat friends be less annoyed, we would be able actually to live in the moment. Spending so much time on social media is not only disconnecting us from each other, it's having a negative effect on our productivity and self esteem. We all seem to "post to impress" rather than post to share something we absolutely love. If something doesn't get enough likes, most of us feel as we are not good enough, that the things we do aren't as cool as what other people do. Nothing should dictate what we love to do, or what we are passionate about. We should be able to do what we want without feeling judged for it.

These days, we are constantly on our phones; living through some sort of screen. We see a picture or video on some sort of social media and say, "I wish I could go there," or "They are so goals OMG!" Well, to this I have a simple solution: GET OFF YOUR PHONE AND BE YOUR OWN GOALS. Actually go out and do what you want to do rather than looking up fun things to do or cool places to go.

If you still don't realize how much time we spend on our phone is getting to be ridiculous, watch this video. It helps put it all into perspective.

The world is such a beautiful place. Whether you're at a park in your hometown, the gorgeous mountains of Colorado, or some other exotic place out of the country, chances are a picture taken on your phone won't do it justice. These places were meant to be seen face to face, not face to phone. You just can't let something so beautiful down like that. So put your phone down and enjoy what the world has to offer you. You never know what you might miss if you're constantly looking at your phone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
