A Look into the Daily Life of a College Student
The Corsair

Ever wondered what it's like to be a college student? Here is the average day in the life of a college student:

1. *alarm sounds* snoozes alarm as many times as possible

2. *finally wakes up* "I don't want to be awake this early."

3. *checks e-mail* "No class cancelled, I guess I have to get up."

4. *looks for something to wear to class* "Sweatpants/pajama pants are acceptable, right?"

5. *packs backpack for class* "For all the money I spent on this textbook, we better use it."

6. *looks for something to eat for breakfast* "I don't have enough time to go to the dining hall. Mac 'n' Cheese (or Ramen) for breakfast? Okay."

7. *walks to class* "I. NEED. COFFEE. NOW!"

8. *walks into classroom* "I don't want to be here. I dislike (insert name of professor/classmate)."

9. *finds seat in back corner* "Hopefully this professor won't just randomly call on people, I like to participate when I feel like it."

10. *checks clock during class* "I've only been here for (insert small amount of time). I still have another hour!?!"

11. *gets out of class aka. time for motivational pep talk* "One down, two more to go today. I can do this!"

(Repeat no. 7-9 for each class you have on that day)

12. *falls face first onto bed when you get back to your dorm* "Ah, bed, oh how I've missed you!"

13. *looks at planner/all homework that needs to be done* "I can be super efficient with my time if I have my stress cry now and then transition right into nap."

14. *wakes up from nap* "I should go to the gym before I do some homework, but I'm totally craving (insert name of unhealthy food here)."

15. *looks at bank account, sigh* "I guess its the dining hall, AGAIN."

16. *walks into dining hall* "I hope that there is something good to eat."

17. *looks for something to eat* "Well I guess its (whatever food is edible and available daily aka toast, cereal, salad, grilled chicken, a sandwich, french fries, or ice cream)

18. *eats* "I'm still hungry. Oops, time to start homework."

19. *walks toward library, sees dog* "OMG, puppy!!" *runs across street to pet random dog being walked by owner*

20. *walks into library* "I am your slave."

(insert number of hours later)

21. *looks at clock* "So if I go to bed now I will get just about 6 hours of sleep."

22. *looks back at stack of assignments* "I guess I can sleep when I'm dead. Another day, another all-nighter."

23. *finally gets to bed* "Oh bed, I never want to leave you." *alarm sounds*

(Repeat process 5 days a week for 8 months a year for at least 4 years of your life)

There you have it, you have experienced a day as a college student.Add a social life, a job or participation in an activity and the daily routine you just went through is a hell of a lot more exhausting.

"The best years of your life" is a phrase commonly used to describe college. That is true, but there is a lot more to college than drinking and going out to parties.

People criticize our generation for not being prepared for the "real world", but if we can conquer college, we definitely will be prepared to take on the "real world".

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
