Life and style bloggers are a very popular and fun trend that has been on the rise in recent years, but how do you create a fashion/lifestyle blog and make it successful. I asked one of my friends, Hannah Williams, the brains behind 'The Trendy Hippie' what made her want to start up her blog.
Hannah said, "Starting a lifestyle + fashion blog has always been a dream of mine because I think it is so much fun to share your personal style + tips with other people who are looking to learn! Yet, for the longest time my hold up was that “I didn't know enough about how to get started,” but there was honestly one day where I woke up and said I am going to do it, and then did it!"
I was very curious about how she chose the name 'Trendy Hippie' "I wanted my blog name to reflect my personal style and I think my style is a mixture between pairing trendy items with items that can be seen as “hippie” or a bohemian look," said Hannah. She also described her style as being "trendy, bohemian, and versatile" because she is always looking to change it up a bit!
Some of her biggest fashion icons (who are also mine!), Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Jennifer Aniston.
Anyone who knows Hannah knows that her and her mom are extremely close, she was one of her biggest supporters when starting up her blog. "She is the most stylish person in the ENTIRE world to me. She could seriously wear a trash bag and I would think she is the prettiest person in the room," said Hannah.
Some of Hannah's personal favorite fashion blogs/instagrams, and I can definitely see why, are;
Cara (Loren) Van Brocklin (@caraloren)
Vicky Heiler (@vickyheiler)
Marianna Hewitt (@marianna_hewitt)
Hannah's go to stores are; Nordstrom, Zara, Madewell, Free People, Athleta, Planet Blue, TopShop, Urban Outfitters, Forever21 and Asos. Her go-to outfit is TopShop Jamie jeans in denim and some sort of simple top, preferably a v-neck from Madewell.
Starting your own blog can be nerve racking at first, but Hannah said to "GO FOR IT! Don't let any negative thoughts or words hold you back. If you want to go for it, you should. Yet, I also think that you need to make sure you realize the amount of time/work it takes to run a blog. When I first started I was a bit SHOCKED at everything I had to figure out!"
Starting this blog has taught Hannah many things. "I have learned how to blog in a more efficient way, what types of posts receive positive feedback, and the most important to me is the need to have a support system behind you every step of the way," said Hannah.
When Hannah isn't focusing on her blog she enjoys her Rodan + Fields business, hanging out with her family and friends, reading, researching about other blogs and reading others blogs as well.
"My goal from the beginning has been to inspire other women through my blog, and to know that I have helped someone in some way along my journey," said Hannah.
