Duke and Eastwood fans prepare for a modern roller-coaster of a western, sure to keep you interested from episode one tell the very end - and keep you coming back season after season. A skillfully crafted series based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The show follows Walt Longmire, played by Australian actor Robert Taylor, as the charismatic, honest, and value upholding sheriff of fictional Absaroka County, in northeaster Wyoming.

Maintaining a brave face and square-up demeanor to any situation, Longmire keeps watch over the county and its citizens. All the while, deep inside, he hides the pain he truly feels towards the recent death of his wife. But through the caring nature of his daughter Cady Longmire, played by Cassidy Freeman, and his long devoted friend Henry Standing Bear, played by Lou Diamond Phillips. Walt Longmire, gains a new outlook and passion for his job and dedicates himself to moving forward, one step at a time.

From the first moment you jump in and begin the show you find yourself hooked. Wait… this isn't just another crime/drama? No! In fact, it has a very refreshing new and unique take on the genre. A contemporary Western blended with a crime drama and a sprinkle of cowboys versus Indians and you've got an amazing mix of a show called Longmire.

Adapted for TV, I have already added the book series to my future reading list. The show is easily a binge-watch. The cast of characters presented on screen are so dynamically believable, I found myself truly caring about them. No spoilers, but there are some serious things which you will find out and witness on the show, which spans six seasons, that will leave you angry and or in tears. It has been brilliantly written. I myself hope to work on a project just as spectacular one day.

Something to consider which I believe has added to the success and unique nature of the show is; that it truly is a one of a kind. Originally on A&E before being cancelled and then picked up immediately by Netflix between season 3 and 4. It is one of the only, Western themed crime shows out there. Walt Longmire is a strong, smart lawman with a strong set of values of which he will not forsake, break or back down from. Willing to go toe-to-toe, regardless of the odds. The bare essentials of the character reminded me of John Wayne or certain Clint Eastwood films that I grew up with. But, with a very modern theme and expressing the clash between old and new.

I personally recommend this show to anyone in the market for something new and unique. I would give this show a 9.5 out of 10, and will not be swayed otherwise. IMBD scored the show at an 8.3 out of 10; TV.com 7.5 out of 10; and Rottentommatoes.com gave the show an overall 88%. Longmire is available on Netflix now.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
