We all know that there are so many perks to being 4,000 miles away from the person that you love. It makes life so much easier and does wonders to improve the quality of your relationship. Skype and FaceTime are the best pieces of modern technology that have advanced the quality of the relationship to the point of making long distance better than an in-person relationship. There are so many great qualities to being in a long distance relationship that make it even better than living in the same area.

Good Morning Texts

Everyone knows that morning breath is the worst quality of waking up in the morning. The large mile gap between the two of you helps alleviate the pain of having to endure it. Seeing the text pop up on your phone is a great perk in replacement to having to see them in person. End the pain of morning breath by moving into a long distance relationship, morning texts are very satisfying.

Skype and FaceTime 24/7

Why wouldn't you want to be attached to your computer? Cameras that are built into your computer or cell phone or tablet are a God sent a gift for your 4,000-mile long distance. Why would you ever want to be near them when you can have a screen between you two making the distance feel even larger? Skype and FaceTime make you feel like you're practically with them so there is no reason as to why you would ever want to be in the same location as your significant other.

You Don't Have to Have Physical Contact

Germaphobes rejoice in the glory of the distance. Your significant other is probably infested with all sorts of germs including the common cold and the flu. Why would you ever want to catch an illness from them when you can be healthier and further away in proximity? Come to terms with your healthiness and stay in that long distance relationship so you won't have to get their sicknesses.

You Don't Have To Spend Money on Them

All of your dates can be over Skype or FaceTime so that means you won't have to drop a dime for your dates. Enjoy lots of dinner dates with a monitor in between the two of you. Why would you ever want to spend a large amount of money on another person when you could save it for your college tuition? Going out to dinner or to the movies is very overrated, stay inside and Skype instead.

Time Zones Rule

Having a three hour time difference spices the relationship up for the better. It means that they could be sleeping as you're awake or vice versa. Why would you ever want to be in the same time zone when you could be chasing time differences and wishing that your significant other was in the same location? Life is a lot better when you have to add or subtract hours just to figure out what time it is in their area. It is very pleasing to know that they're on a different schedule than you are.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
