Long distance relationships get a bad reputation because they are hard. But when you really care about someone and life happens they become necessary. I am in a long distance relationship now and have been for a year now. LDR's can work as long as both people are willing to work for the relationship, which is the case with normal relationships too. Once someone stops working at making it work the relationship will fall apart. To help anyone who needs ideas of what to do with your significant other here are some fun long distance activities.

1. Skype date

Skype dates can are when you make plans to have a meal together and just talk. For special occasions you can both dress up and prepare or order the same meal.

2. Movies

One of my favorite things to do is cuddle and watch movies. Even though we are long distance my boyfriend and I still watch movies together, minus the cuddling. We choose a movie, we make sure we use the same website for timing purposes, and then we count to three and start the movie at the same time. It's really fun if you can have Skype going at the same time so you can see each others reactions. Sometimes Skype doesn't work when you have a movie going so a phone call works too.

3. YouTube

Using the same count down method you use to watch movies you can use on YouTube videos. There are a lot of fun videos online that are funny, thought provoking, sad, informative, or artsy. They give you something to talk about and if you both subscribe to a channel you can keep up with the videos together. Having a channel that you only watch the videos together can be fun and gives you something to loo forward to.

4. Games

When you guys get bored of just watching videos and you want to do something more interactive you can play games online together. The are fun websites that allow you to connect with people in a game and either be on the same team or against each other. If you've never been a video game person that's okay because there are websites that simulate board games so you can do that together.

5. Snapstreak

This is something that you can do throughout the day. It's a silly thing but its fun. Having a common goal to work towards is a good way to connect and you get to see each others faces. When you start getting into high numbers you really get into it because it's exciting.

6. Read

I love to read and so does my boyfriend so sitting together and reading is so much fun to me. If you want to just sit and read together you can do that while Skyping. It's nice being able to sit quietly with your significant other and look at them while they are distracted. You guys can also get the same book at read out loud together taking turns on each chapter.

I hope at least one of these helps you with your long distance relationship. Good Luck.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
