There's no better feeling than being able to see your friends every single day. Nothing tops those early morning coffee dates and the late night trips to Steak 'N Shake. But at the same time, there is something especially special about a long distance friendship. It's truly a bond that only the two of you will understand.
1. The excitement that goes into planning trips to visit one another.
Once the idea of seeing one another is spoken out loud, nothing else matters besides planning your trip. Every aspect of the trip must be planned including what activities you'll do each day and what you'll have for every meal ... even planning more meals than you'll be there for.
2. Knowing every aspect of that person's social life without knowing the people in it.
Despite not actually knowing the people that they go to school with or the friends that they tend to hang out with, you're still 100% in on the drama and can relate to it as if you knew them all yourself.
3. The blessing that is Snapchat.
Even though Snapchat might be the only way that you're actually able to see one another, it's so easy to send each other quick updates and even see what the other person is doing on the SnapMap.
4. Feeling like you have a home away from home.
Somehow from the few times that you've visited them, their town has started to feel a little bit like yours, too.
5. You always have someone to give you a completely unbiased opinion on something.
Because your long distance friend doesn't actually know your friends from back home, they're best the person to ask for advice from because they have an unbiased opinion as to what's going on.
6. There's never not nothing to talk about.
After a long time apart from one another, the best feeling is finally being able to hang out with them and catching up on every aspect of their life. There is never a moment of silence with you two.
7. The mental countdown you keep for how long you have to wait until you see them again.
Even though it sucks not being able to hang out with them whenever you want, at least you always have something to look forward to.
