Long Distance Friends Are The Best Friends

Side by side or miles apart, friends are always close at heart.

Long Distance Friends Are The Best Friends

As we grow older, we tend to travel a lot more. Whether it is study abroad, a spring break trip to Cancun, the Disney College Program, or even a family road trip, we are bound to meet new people along the way. The new people we cross paths with are unlike any other, and sometimes it seems that we grow close in such a short amount of time. More often than not, these new friends become lifelong friends, no matter what state your physical being resides in.

Long distance friends are the best friends.

They are the ones who you do not get to see often, unless you make time to Skype, awkwardly FaceTime each, other or send ridiculous Snapchats to each other. (These Snapchats are in fact horrendous, and let's be honest: While you are FaceTiming you aren't truly looking at the other person for the most part because you are so worried about how washed out you look in the tiny screen that is your face.)

They are the ones who stay up late at night just to text you stories using emojis. Random phone calls are always a must as well. Whether you are walking home from class, sitting on the couch, or even driving around town, you know they are always just a phone call or text message away.

No one ever understands the bond between you and your long distance best friend. The bond between the two of you is not like any other. Due to the distance between you two, you feel the need to learn every little thing about each other, no matter how strange it may be. Either way, you love each other no matter what, weird quirks and all.

When you have a long distance best friend you always have someone to talk to. Your phone is always buzzing. To others, it seems as if you are in a relationship with your phone and your long distance BFF rather than your actual boyfriend or girlfriend.

Long distance friends are always there for you. They will listen to the ups, downs, pathetic dramas of your life, and even the weird things you do on a daily basis. You know that whenever you tell them a secret, they'll keep it. They don't have anyone in their home state to tell your secret to and same goes for you. Seeing them possibly be that close with anyone else absolutely breaks your heart into a million pieces.

At every family gathering you can't help but talk about each other. Everyone knows who you are before they even meet you. When they finally do meet you, it is nice to finally put a face to a name.

You always have someone to go and visit when you need to escape your home state. The planning of the trip to reunite with your long distance best friend is the greatest thing in the entire world.

When you finally do go to visit your long distance best friend, you do some strange things to greet each other. No matter what happens when you see each other, you just know you love each other and are so beyond excited to be face to face again.

But, leaving them is the ultimate sacrifice. You cry for days on end knowing that you won't be face to face again for a while. But at least they are still in your life.

Long distance friends are the best friends because no matter where you are in the world, your hearts will always be together. They fill your life with laughter, love, and adventure. Without your long distance best friend, you wouldn't be complete.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
