In the words of one of the greatest bands of all times... The Naked Brothers Band... "long distance relationships will kill you." In fact, the only long distance relationship that I will tolerate is the one I have with my best friend. You see, I live in Virginia, she lives in Indiana... see the problem? The saving grace of our friendship is iMessage, FaceTime, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. With all of these wonderful tools, it is easy to feel like we are constantly in the exact same room as each other. But even though those are helpful, it still sucks that if you wanted to go on a late night ice cream run with your best friend, you'll have to wait for a 16 hour car ride or pay for plane tickets. Though, my friend Desiree and I aren't the only long distance best friends in the world. Of course, there are lots of people going through similar situations as us. Thus, there are things that everyone with a long distance best friend just knows.

1. You hate not being able to see them

It's a hard life when you can't just go over to your best friend's house whenever you want and you envy everyone else that can.

2. You talk EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

I find myself texting, calling, and reaching out on different social media platforms with my long distance best friend than I do with my friends who live in the same town. It's not that I don't like my hometown friends, it's just that I feel since I can't see my long distance best friend I have to compensate by keeping up an "open 24 hours a day" text log.

3. You listen to each others drama like you know everybody involved

When she is complaining about a rude coworker or the nasty girl who lives next door, you have no idea who these people are but you still get invested into all of the tea because she is your best friend and it is your job to hate the people she hates equally as much.

4. When you run out of things to talk about, you just start roasting each other on old memories

There are only a few people in my life who I won't get mad at if they openly roast me to my face... and my long distance best friend is definitely in that V.I.P. club.

5. Since you can't play real games together, a favorite bonding experience is absolutely destroying each other in iMessage games

My best friend and I's favorite games to play back and forth are 8-ball, basketball, anagrams, cup pong, filler, mancala, and word hunt. Also, if she comments on this article saying she is better at these games than me DO NOT BELIEVE HER, I AM BETTER.

6. You get terribly offended if she posts about someone else and refers to them as her "bff"

I refuse to be friend cheated on. Anytime I see my friend do it I immediately call her out in a private message (either on iMessage or Snapchat), and she does it right back to me if I do it.

7. You find yourself bringing them up a lot around your other friends

Your other friends probably get tired of hearing about her so much but like you don't care... THAT'S YO' BEST FRIEND!

8. When she gets a new significant other and you're not there to personally interrogate them

Ugh you have to be there in person to make sure your best friend's s.o. personally knows that if they break your bff's heart, you'll break their face.

9. You send each other the weirdest snapchats

It's just what you do.

10. Sometimes you have to make executive life decisions for each other

Because you know if you let them decide they're going to text their lame ex or something.

11. You countdown to when you'll get to see each other

12. And when you finally do it's magical

Reunited and it feels so good!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
