Let me start by saying it takes a certain connection between two friends to make a friendship work, but especially a long-distance friendship. Even after we've been apart for years, went to college, made new friends, had new experiences, you have consistently been the person that stuck by my side through it all.
Since we can't see each other every day, and we can't speak as often as I wish, I don't get the chance to tell you how much you mean to me. I understand that we're both living our lives and we get busy, but seriously, my life wouldn't be the same without you.
Thank you for always FaceTiming me, even the FaceTime calls at 2 a.m. when I have class the next day. I know that you will always put a smile on my face (we're basically the same person). You listen to me rant about the most trivial things, and that takes patience. But, sometimes life throws things at us that we can't handle alone, but I know that I can depend on you to FaceTime me through it (for three hours).
Thank you for understanding that life gets busy and I can't always answer your call or text. Sometimes I don't answer because I'm too busy sleeping, and I'm sorry for neglecting you. But you will always get a call back, and you will always get a shoulder to lean on when you need it.
Thank you for reminiscing with me the memories we made growing up, even the embarrassing ones. You knew me before the person I am now, and you have accepted me through every phase of it.
Thank you for making it seem like we aren't miles apart. When we finally do see each other, things pick up right where we left off. Things don't change between us, and I really appreciate that our friendship has remained the same through this time in our lives where everything seems to be changing.
Mostly, thank you for showing me what true friendship is. I miss you and crazy things we'd get into together more than you could understand. Although I wish you were here to experience college with me like we always planned, I have complete faith that you will do amazing things. I'm so incredibly proud of the person you're becoming, and I'm thankful to be your #1 fan on the sidelines. We've had the typical ups and downs, as most friendships have, but you have stuck by me through it all, and I plan to do the same for you. I love you.
