25 Things Every Girl Knows (Or Quickly Learns) Living In A House Full of Women

From periods to boy gossip, every girl can recognize these 25 things when they're living with other girls.

From the fun to the stress, us girls all know the life of living with other females.

1. The raging hormones are constantly flying.

There is always one that is tense or emotional, or maybe everyone at once. It could be stress from school, relationship problems, or Aunt Flo is here for a visit.

2. The Sync of Periods

There's not any explanation for it, but when girls live together their periods may sync up. If one gets their period, you have some distinct feeling your flow will be approaching soon enough.

3. Someone will always have your back when in need of a tampon.

You may be short or in an emergency and desperately need back up. Someone will have no problem tossing one your way when in need. Thank God for those lifesavers.

4. PMS + Ice Cream

When one roommate has got a bad case of PMS, you know their favorite ice cream can help during their time of distress.

5. The TMI conversations you have with your roommates that you wouldn't have with anyone else.

You share the grossest period stories, your symptoms when sick, or most embarrassing moments you had with no shame. We've all got those stories.

6. Embarrassing yourself is a-okay.

Go ahead and run into their room wearing some ridiculous outfit or belching some off-tune song.

7. Did you hear... Gossip!

You love sharing stories with your girl(s) of the latest dish you just heard. Though you may not condone gossip, you just have to share the news.

8. Oh Boy! - Boy talk, that is.

You always need to bring your roomies up to speed on the cutest guy you saw walking to class or swooning over your current relationship. Details, please!

9. Does this look good?

Fortunately, you can always turn to your girls when in need of wardrobe advice. You got a date tonight, ask a roomie what they think you look great in. You got an interview tomorrow, which outfit says, "Hire me."

10. Speaking of Wardrobes - Sharing.

Asking your roommate if you can borrow that blouse of theirs for your date and promising them a favor in return is commonplace. Sometimes, it may get to a point where just take clothes without bothering to ask (But only do that if they're cool with it! Always check.).

11. Sharing makeup, even though you know you probably shouldn't.

Hey, she's got the new eyeshadow palette you've been dying to try. Or maybe you're out of the house and know they always keep some extra makeup on them (Emergency kits are must!).

12. Who took my hairbrush?

How many times have you asked this one, especially when you probably just left it in the other room...

13. Can I borrow your charger?

You may be too lazy to go to your room and grab yours or you misplaced it. Roomie has got your back.

14. Chocolate.

Let's be clear, my chocolate is my chocolate. If I say you can have a bite, I mean a bite, not all of it. Word to the wise, do not cross a girl and her chocolate.

15. Shampoo and Conditioner are constantly on the grocery list.

Whether a few girls share the bathroom or it's just you, S&C has a permanent spot on the paper.

16. Razors. So Many Razors.

Razors follow the same rules as tampons, shampoo, and conditioner. They run out fast and one girl will always have your back.

17. The Race to the Shower.

If you share a bathroom with a friend or siblings, the other may say they are going to hop in. So beat them to it.

18. Stealing the Hot Water

Purposely getting in the shower when someone else is in theirs. Then the yell of cold water after you have quite a warm shower.

19. Texting in the same room.

We are all guilty of this. Texting your sister or roommate a meme even though you could have gotten up to show them.

20. Car Karaoke

No matter where the drive is to, road trip or up the street, y'all know some good car jams to sing your lungs out to.

21. Traditions

You'll start to build small traditions together such as: watching a show together every Friday night, a morning routine of sitting at the table with your cups of coffee, or the good old-fashioned movie night.

22. Everyone knows each other's schedule.

You all know when someone is in class, at work, or not doing anything. You may even try to match up these schedules to make everyone's life easier.

23. Just like how you know their schedule, you also know their Starbucks order.

Knowing each other's order is like knowing their mind.

24. Target Runs.

Target trips are a fun excursion or a great cure-all when you're having a bad day. Plus, everyone is always guilty of leaving the store with more than intended.

25. Finally, when one (or more) are gone, you are so lonely.

It feels as if there is a part of the home missing, and you can't wait to see them again.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
