Music is an essential part of everyday life; it's all around you everywhere you go. We are fortunate because we live in a world where music is easy to access. It wasn't always like that, however. In the old days, people had to go out to hear music which meant it was always played live. Today we live in a world of recorded music, stuff that has been mixed down a few times before reaching us. In my opinion, nothing beats the live music experience.

Don't get me wrong, I love recorded music as much as the next person. Musicians work hard on the material they produce. They work tireless hours putting in 280% effort so they can make a living and produce something their fans deserve to hear. It's amazing and it enthralls me every time I hear it. However, there's another level of genius that comes with live music. Up on that stage there are no re-dos, no edits, just pure adrenaline and showmanship-- amazing.

When I go to a concert, it isn't so much about how good the vocals are. Obviously when a singer is on stage with a whole band playing live music behind him or her, they're not going to be able to sing as good as they can in a music studio. It is, however, about how the band performs, and the live instrument playing. To me there's nothing better than talented musicians who really know how to handle an instrument.

It's also about the energy coming off of the band. No one wants to watch a singer or band who just sits around or barely shows any excitement in what they're doing on stage. Great showmanship makes for a great concert.

A singer or band who gets into their music excites the crowd and it adds to the entire concert experience as a whole. You definitely can't get showmanship by listening to a recorded son. There are music videos but you can't feel the energy in the room like you can at a live show.

Great special effects are also important for an awesome concert experience. Amazing pyrotechnics and awesome light shows only add to thrill of the concert. They also add to the energy because a good light show can hype up the crowd even more if necessary.

One of my favorite aspects of concerts are the effects as you watch. They give you an insight to what the band or singer's personality or image is like. All the effects make for a stunning combination and I love the feeling that combination adds to the experience.

My favorite types of concerts to attend are the ones featuring the legends or big names in concert. Having the opportunity to see a singer or band who has made a huge impact in the music world is an amazing experience.

I haven't seen a lot but each one has been memorable. I love concerts and I love watching musicians at their craft; it's one the most interesting things in the world.

There's a lot of talent out there. Live performances allow us to experience that talent.

Don't just go to a concert; appreciate it instead.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
