Growing up, you're always told about how important your future is. You're told that you can be anything you aspire to be. That's not the case. You can aspire to be what you'd like but you have to have strengths in that department. Why try and become a singer when you were born to entertain? Everything in life is about the money, where you go to school, the job you end up having, your future family, and everything else in between. No one tells you to slow down and enjoy every. single. day. You have your whole adult life to have a full-time job, but for now, enjoy your life.They don't really sit down and think about their future, and what they love doing. Students take on so many jobs at a time to try and make money to save them from debt .I understand if you have to have a job during college to help pay off your loans, but don't put your happiness on hold if it means to make an extra buck.
Take every moment of freedom that is thrown at you and make the most of it. If you're invited to Florida for a month to help your aunt, do it. If you're asked to go on a camping trip with a friend, go. If your favorite band is coming to town or even a state away, take a road trip. If your guardian asks to go on a walk with them, go. If your friend wants to just sit and talk, listen. It's all about the little things. Take advantage of every moment.
Everyone is growing up too fast to realize they've missed out on having fun. Teenagers act like adults and don't step back to realize their time will come. I'm not saying every teenager should act immature and go crazy but I think they should at least act their age and live in the "now."
With everything going on in the world today it's important to make the most of your life. If you don't have one day you regret, even a little bit, you're not living. You only have one life, and you're living it now. So why waste your time trying to act older, doing something you despise, or trying to make others happy. Put yourself first. Take care of you, take a breath, and take a look around you, because your life is beautiful and you're here for a reason. Do something adventurous today, get a tattoo, dye your hair, go crazy (but not too crazy) because this is your time.
