At some point in life, we all catch ourselves wanting to change others.
We notice a friend not making great choices or a family member always talking poorly of other people.
Sometimes the answers that people need in their lives are painfully obvious that we don’t understand why others are not taking action.
But the problem is that they don’t see what we see. They don’t know what we know.
It’s very easy to live life looking through one’s own lenses instead of through the eyes of someone else. And living like this is what prevents people from noticing what is wrong and what needs to be changed.
The obvious answers are not so obvious when we only look in front of ourselves instead of noticing our surroundings.
And when we see people living with blinders on, we just want to look at them straight in the eye and shake some sense into them.
Wanting to change someone else is not always a bad thing. But obviously we shouldn’t change what makes them who they are. However, if a shift needs to be made sometimes taking a step back is the best thing we can do.
This is why the most powerful and possibly the only way to grab their attention is to live by example.
We have all heard the saying, “actions speak louder than words.” Even though words have so much meaning and worth, the way we live our lives is how people perceive us. And the fact is walking the walk can be more persuasive than talking the talk.
When we see someone constantly making detrimental decisions, we need to show what it’s like to make uplifting and positive ones. If someone isn’t being transparent with us, we have to be transparent with them.
Living this way is probably the easiest yet most impactful thing we can do. By demonstrating a life we want others to live is not only the key in helping others, but it’s also how we can draw in abundance to our own lives.
If we want to receive love, we have to give love. If we want a best friend, we have to be supportive of others.
We have the ability to significantly change our own lives in the simplest way possible. It’s remarkable to see how taking small actions can significantly make changes.
At the end of the day, everyone makes their own decisions whether they are good ones or not.
We only have control of ourselves. And no matter how hard we try, what we say to others isn’t always enough.
This is why exemplification contains so much potential. When we are no longer being heard, our actions are what make people become curious which turns into making changes for themselves.
This is an opportunity that is too great to not take advantage of, and when each of us demonstrates the way we want others to live, together we have the ability to bring in prosperity for ourselves and for others.
