When you are stuck living in a dorm with a roommate and communal bath, you quickly realize how much you miss the everyday luxuries your home provides. As we close out this semester here are a few of the little things I am looking forward to at home...
1. My own bed
The beds they give you at school are tiny and hard as a rock. I can't wait to go home and sleep on my own comfy mattress with a million different pillows.
2. Home cooked meals
At the beginning of freshman year, the dining hall was an exciting place filled with so many choices. However, the novelty quickly wore off and I found myself missing my mom's food by the end of the first month of college. Going home means I get all of my favorite meals.
3. Going to my favorite restaurant
As a college student living on a very limited budget, I did not get to go out to eat very often. I can't wait to get back home and go out to my favorite restaurant then pass the check to my parents. Thanks, mom and dad!
4. Singing in the shower
Because I had a hall style bath I was unable to rock out to my favorite songs while showering. While I know I am a rock star, I don't think my hall mates would have appreciated my talent. When I go home and have my own bathroom again I am going to sing loudly and proudly!
5. Seeing my friends from home
Because I went to college out of state I haven't seen my friends from home in forever. I can't wait to catch up and hear all about their adventures in college.
6. Driving my car
My parents did not let me bring my car to school with me this year but when I get home it will just be me and the highway.
7. Taking a bath
Showers get the job done, but baths are super relaxing. The best way to unwind after a long day is to put on some soothing music, dim the lights, and hop in a luxorious bubble bath.
